The entrance exam for grade 10 high school students to non-specialized, specialized and boarding schools in the province took place from June 3 to 6. Immediately afterwards, the provincialeducation sector deployed a system to ensure safety and confidentiality in accordance with regulations.
The exam review board will work from June 17 to 20. The deadline for announcing the review scores is June 20.
The calculation of the entrance score for non-specialized high school grade 10 this year is based on the formula: admission score = total score of Literature, Math, English (coefficient 1) + priority points (if any) + incentive points (if any).
The admission score for grade 10 specialized high school is calculated according to the formula: admission score = total score of non-specialized exams (coefficient 1) + score of specialized exam (coefficient 2).
The entrance exam for non-specialized, boarding and specialized high schools, for the 2025-2026 school year, has nearly 11,000 candidates. According to the plan of the Department of Education and Training, 9,880 students will be admitted to grade 10, for the 2025-2026 school year.
Lao Cai Specialized High School enrolls 11 classes, including specialized classes in Math, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, Chinese, History, Geography, each specialized subject has 1 class; specialized English has 2 classes. The maximum number of admitted students is 385 students; each class has a maximum of 35 students.
