In the latest move, on September 10, the 27-member bloc held a high-level meeting with major businesses to discuss preventing companies from supplying Russia with important technologies for military purposes.

Companies participating in the meeting shared experiences and measures to ensure strict compliance with sanctions.

Meanwhile, the EU stressed the important role of the list of restricted goods, aimed at cutting off essential supplies to Russia's defense industry, making it unable to access military technology.

Affirming that there will be zero tolerance for any violation of sanctions, the alliance also called for cooperation from the business community to ensure that no one can exploit loopholes to support Moscow in its ongoing special military operation in Ukraine.

* According to RT news agency, recently, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev announced that extensive sanctions against the country will remain in place regardless of who wins the US presidential election in November.

"No matter who is the next US president - Donald Trump or Kamala Harris - there will be no lifting of sanctions on Moscow," he said.

Last week, former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump pledged to "use sanctions as little as possible" if he returned to the White House.

In a post on Telegram, Mr. Medvedev affirmed: "Mr. Trump's comments do not mean that he will lift the sanctions currently in force against Moscow."

The former US president understands that sanctions damage the role of the US dollar as an international reserve currency, but that is not enough to go against the anti-Russian line of the world's largest economy , the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council argued.

The former Russian president noted that the Soviet Union was under sanctions for most of the 20th century. Now, Moscow is facing similar treatment from Washington and its allies, but on a much larger, unprecedented scale.

“So it is a permanent sanction,” Mr. Medvedev wrote.
