The Hanoi Department of Transport has just approved the temporary operation of a 2km section of the Le Quang Dao extended road project to reduce traffic congestion. The Department of Transport has proposed a temporary use plan for this section to the Hanoi People's Committee. It is expected that this road will be temporarily opened to traffic on January 21.

The Le Quang Dao extended road project has a length of 2.673km, designed speed of 60km/h. The total investment is nearly 750 billion VND, invested by the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem district. Currently, the section from Thang Long Avenue to the end of the intersection with Dai Mo road (about 1.9km) has been completed according to the approved design documents.

The remaining section, about 0.7km long, from Dai Mo intersection to the end of Nam Tu Liem district, is under construction and has achieved 80% of the volume according to the approved design documents.

After missing the early completion date of December 2024, contractors have focused on human resources, machinery, and equipment, determined to complete the project by May 2025.

In addition to the above project, the project to build a route from To Huu Street to the extended 70th Street, with a section from the road to Louis City Urban Area (Km0+617) to the intersection with the road through Dai Mo Ward People's Committee (Km1+490), has also been completed according to the approved design documents. It is expected that from January 21, the above route will also be put into temporary use to reduce traffic congestion.

The remaining sections have not been completed due to problems with site clearance, with construction volume reaching 75% of the approved design documents.

According to the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District, the temporary operation of the two routes will reduce congestion on main roads such as Thang Long Boulevard, Road 70, To Huu, Le Quang Dao and meet the travel needs of people during the Lunar New Year 2025.
