At the meeting, the People's Council of Dong Thap province announced the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the appointment of the Chairman, Vice Chairmen, and Heads of Committees of the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021-2026. Accordingly, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Chau Thi My Phuong was appointed to hold the position of Chairwoman of the People's Council of Dong Thap province. The Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council include comrade Tran Thanh Nguyen and comrade Pham Van Chuan.
The Provincial People's Council also announced the Prime Minister 's Decision on appointing personnel to hold the position of Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee and Vice Chairmen of the province for the 10th term, 2021-2026. Specifically:

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Le Quoc Phong said that this was the first meeting after the merger of Tien Giang and Dong Thap provinces into the new Dong Thap province - The meeting was very important, a pivotal first step in the process of forming and operating the two-level local government model.
This is also one of the essential tasks to complete the implementation process of the Party and State's major policy on the arrangement of two-level administrative units in the province, not only a milestone in terms of administrative organization, but also an opportunity for the entire Party Committee, government and people of Dong Thap province to affirm their political determination, promote collective strength, and aim for the goal of rapid, sustainable and comprehensive development.
