On the morning of September 2, the price of SJC gold bars continued to be maintained by large enterprises such as PNJ, SJC, DOJI at a high level of 129.1 million VND/tael for buying and 130.6 million VND/tael for selling, stable compared to yesterday. The price of gold bars remained at a historical peak during the September 2 holiday.

In the free market, some small shops in Ho Chi Minh City adjusted the price of gold bars to 133 million VND/tael for buying and 134 million VND/tael for selling, an increase of 1.5 million VND/tael compared to yesterday and nearly 2.5 million VND/tael higher than at large gold companies.

Maintaining the same high level, the price of 99.99% gold rings and jewelry gold is listed at 122.5 million VND/tael for buying and 125 million VND/tael for selling, unchanged from yesterday.

On the international market at 9:30 a.m. Vietnam time, the world gold price was trading at 3,493 USD/ounce, up about 40 USD/ounce compared to the previous session. Notably, the precious metal on the international market approached the historical peak of 3,500 USD/ounce set in April 2025 and in fact, in the trading session last night, at times it exceeded 3,500 USD/ounce.

Thus, both domestic and international gold prices are at historical peaks - exceeding forecasts and surprising many investors. This is the highest price in more than 4 months, driven by expectations that the US Federal Reserve (FED) will cut interest rates in the near future and the weakening of the USD. The USD index (DXY) continues to remain below the 98 point zone - the lowest in the past week.

The world gold price has increased strongly but is still much lower than the domestic gold price. Currently, the precious metal converted according to the exchange rate listed at commercial banks this morning is about 111.8 million VND, nearly 19 million VND/tael lower than SJC gold bars.
