Continuing the source of patriotic emulation

Since the country gained independence, the Vietnamese working class in general and Hai Phong workers in particular have always played a central role in every stage of the revolution. During the resistance war, the working class took the lead in the movements to liberate the nation and unify the country. Today, in the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration, the Hai Phong working class continues to affirm its position with intelligence, creativity and aspiration to build the country through the movement "Good workers - Creative workers".

Every initiative is a demonstration of patriotism.

The movement "Good workers - Creative workers" is spreading more and more strongly among the city's workers, civil servants and laborers, turning ideas into products, technologies and solutions that bring high economic efficiency and practicality.

A typical example is the initiative "Manufacture of an automatic motor core re-pressing machine to adjust the height and increase the bonding force between the steel layers of the motor core" by Mr. Tran Van Truong, an employee of the Technical Department, JFE Shoji Steel Vietnam Co., Ltd. (VSIP Hai Phong Industrial Park). Mr. Tran Van Truong informed that the motor core after being stamped often does not meet the standards for height, bonding force between the steel layers and needs an additional layer of re-pressing the motor core. This step is done manually through a human-powered pressing device, so the pressing time is long, the pressing force is uneven, many errors can arise when re-pressing and it takes 6 workers. From that reality, Mr. Truong researched and manufactured an automatic motor core pressing machine with fast speed, meeting the quantity of motor cores produced from the stamping machine, stable pressing force, no more errors like manual pressing.

General Director of JFE Shoji Steel Vietnam Co., Ltd. Fumito Okabe said the initiative helps products meet customer requirements, benefiting the company more than 1.2 billion VND. The company always encourages employees to innovate and participate in the creative labor movement launched by the Labor Federation. Because this helps the company develop sustainably.

At Hai Phong Water Supply Joint Stock Company, Mr. Le Van Lam, Head of Technical Department, has 4 major initiatives that bring economic benefits of more than 1.17 billion VND. His solutions focus on improving water supply quality, improving technology, applying automation, helping the city's residents to have a stable and safe water supply. Notable are the initiatives to upgrade the water supply network in Kien An, or improve the operating process of the May To pumping station, helping to save hundreds of millions of VND in costs each year.

Elevating the movement in the era of integration and digital transformation

Hai Phong is considered one of the “cradles” marking the birth of the working class and the workers’ movement nationwide. From here, the emulation movement “Coastal Waves” in industrial production, with the origin of socialist groups and teams such as Small Stone Group A, became the emulation flag for labor and production, encouraging the spirit of millions of workers in the North during the period of building socialism.

Continuing the flow of those movements, the movement "Good Labor - Creative Labor" transforms patriotism into productivity, quality, and labor efficiency of workers, civil servants, and laborers in Hai Phong. In 2024, the city had more than 200 initiative profiles proposed for consideration for the Creative Labor Certificate, of which 79 typical initiatives were awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor . In the period of 2020 - 2025, Hai Phong had 442 topics awarded the Creative Labor Certificate, with a total value of more than 270 billion VND. Particularly at the Technical Innovation Contest for Workers, Civil Servants, and Laborers, 930 topics and solutions participated, with an estimated value of more than 250 billion VND. These numbers demonstrate the strong vitality of the movement, affirming that today's working class is continuing the heroic tradition with concrete creative achievements.

In order for the movement to spread and develop sustainably, Chairman of the City Labor Federation Nguyen Anh Tuan said that in the coming time, the City Labor Federation will promote propaganda in many forms such as digital media, organizing innovation festivals, online forums on innovation among workers, creating playgrounds and environments for exchange and mutual learning. At the same time, grassroots unions will continue to promote their role in discovering, introducing, supporting workers with ideas, organizing training, and fostering knowledge on technical innovation; recommending business owners to increase bonuses, support the implementation of initiatives into practice and have clear sanctions to encourage workers to boldly innovate.

With more than 621 thousand workers, including nearly 600 thousand union members at 2,969 grassroots unions, Hai Phong workers continue the tradition, promote intelligence and creativity, and contribute to building a leading modern industrial city and seaport.
