Principal of Dieu Cai High School (Dinh Quan District) Hoac Cong Son shared: "In previous years, the school was allowed to collect money for graduation exam review for students, but this year, when Circular 29 of the Ministryof Education and Training on extra teaching and learning was issued, the school is no longer allowed to collect money but still maintains free review for students, even with higher intensity."

Share the pressure with students

The 2025 high school graduation exam has many new points compared to previous exams, because this is the first year that candidates will take the graduation exam according to the 2018 General Education Program. From the exam time, exam program, number of subjects, exam regulations, there are all fundamental changes, so both teachers and students cannot avoid confusion...

Mr. Son said that since the beginning of the second semester, the school has not collected any review fees from 12th grade students. Teachers assigned to review for students, although not paid, are still happy and enthusiastic. Many teachers even registered with the school to borrow classrooms to review for average and weak students.

Many schools will serve free lunch to candidates.

The principals of many private high schools in Bien Hoa city, Long Khanh city and Trang Bom district said that they will serve free lunch to candidates on the two official exam days of June 26 and 27. After lunch, students can return to the exam room to rest and prepare for the next exam.

At the Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Trang Bom District), last year’s exam was the first time the school had 100% of students passing the graduation exam, so this year the school is determined to repeat this achievement. Instead of letting 12th graders stay home to review from the end of May, when the school year ends, the school still “keeps” them to continue reviewing. Math teacher Bui Thi Vy Van of the school said: “The closer the exam date is, the more stressed the students are. Therefore, we always follow closely, support their review, and encourage them, truly treating them like our own children.”

Lam Thi Thuy Tien, a student at the provincial Ethnic Boarding School, said: “Since the end of May, I have been studying at school to prepare for the high school graduation exam. The school does not charge any fees for the review process, and the teachers support us very enthusiastically. Not only do we review in the morning and afternoon, in the evening, the teachers also require students to be present in class to review until 8:00 p.m. In addition, the school also cares about the meals and sleep of students in the dormitory, which makes us very touched and gives us more motivation to study better.”

Take advantage of the "golden time"

This year, Lam Nghiep High School (Trang Bom District) has 170 students taking the exam. The school principal Nguyen Truong Son said: “When the official time of the school year ends at the end of May, the school will continue to extend the free review time for students until June 20, because this is the “golden time” for students. During this time, 100% of students must attend class to review 2 sessions/day, and parents of students who want to be absent from review sessions must clearly discuss the reason with the homeroom teacher. The school wants to “tighten” the review routine because it wants students to have the most basic knowledge and prioritizes the important goal of 100% of students passing the graduation exam.”

Meanwhile, at private high schools, the spirit of working together with 12th graders to review for the 2025 high school graduation exam has been enhanced compared to previous years. Many schools are cautious because this is the first high school graduation exam under the new general education program, the exam structure will have certain changes, and the re-examination time is 1 week earlier than previous years. While public schools finished the centralized review at school on June 20, many private schools extended it to June 23, exactly 3 days before the official exam.

Mr. Luu Anh Bao, a Math teacher at Dinh Tien Hoang Secondary School (Bien Hoa City), said: “This year’s high school graduation exam has many new points, so teachers cannot be subjective, but must closely follow each student. Teachers often give students sample tests that closely follow the sample exam structure of the Ministry of Education and Training. Students with average and weak academic performance receive more attention, but do not put pressure on them, but use gentle methods. Where knowledge is not yet certain, it must be “reinforced” with exercises both in class and at home.”

Le Ngoc Han, a student at Dong Nai Continuing Education Center, shared: “With the enthusiastic support of teachers, I have allocated time to focus on exam subjects, especially Math and Literature. In addition to reviewing in class, when I get home, if any exercises are difficult, I just need to take a photo and send it to my teacher via phone to get suggested solutions. Every evening, my homeroom teacher sends a text message reminding me to study and go to bed on time to ensure my health for the exam.”
