On June 6, Comrade Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session with the Department of Industry and Trade to listen to a report on the situation and results of activities in the first 6 months of 2024.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade has focused on effectively implementing assigned tasks. Accordingly, a number of sectors assigned to monitor and manage have achieved positive results such as: Industrial production index is estimated at 3,300.63 billion VND, up 14.45%; trade has developed stably, ensuring the supply of essential consumer goods to serve people's consumption needs, total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated to increase by 14.56%; export turnover is estimated at 50 million USD, up 1.26%, import is estimated at 32.8 million USD, up 10.46% over the same period. The Department has also advised the Provincial People's Committee to complete 2/3 of the key tasks and 2/10 specific tasks, the remaining tasks are being focused on implementing within the deadline. In addition, the industry focuses on accelerating the progress of industrial infrastructure and commercial projects, organizing many trade connection activities to create an environment for the development of OCOP products and typical products of the province.

Concluding the working session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the results of the implementation of the tasks that the Department of Industry and Trade has achieved in the first 6 months of 2024. He requested that in the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade focus on implementing solutions to ensure the completion of key tasks and specific tasks to ensure content and progress. Continue to direct and operate the key focus on the development of the energy industry and the processing and manufacturing industry because these are two sectors that the province expects to contribute to socio -economic growth in 2024 and the end of the term. Accordingly, it is necessary to monitor the progress of investment in industrial cluster projects, advise and propose to the Provincial People's Committee solutions to direct and accelerate the progress of project implementation; at the same time, preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to continue to coordinate and support investors in implementing energy projects in the province. For departments and branches, continue to coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to review and unify information on related projects according to the management sector, to speed up progress, while ensuring compliance with planning and legal regulations.
