According to the People's Committee of Da Teh commune, the socio-economic development program of ethnic minority areas has always been focused on implementation. Infrastructure, projects serving agricultural production and people's livelihood in ethnic minority areas have been given priority for investment... contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minority areas. The political security situation, social order and safety are basically stable, the great solidarity of ethnic groups is strengthened. In particular, more than 1,000 Tay and Nung households currently living in the commune have a stable life, people are trying to develop the economy, preserve traditional cultural values, and the countryside is improving day by day.

The formerly muddy land in Da Teh commune has become a tangerine-growing area with a name on the rice “map” of Vietnam. Having the foundation today, the Tay and Nung people always thank the Party, the State, and the local government for their attention and guidance on how to do business. Around the 1990s, the Tay and Nung people came to Da Teh to start a business with the first difficult months, but now they are well-off, mostly using machines to grow rice, and traders buy right in the fields.

Many farmers have become rich in their fields, such as Mr. To Duc Vien's family (village 2) who grows sticky rice, durian, and raises swiftlets. Mr. Trieu Van Tuong (village 3) with 5 hectares of sticky rice and durian and has converted to growing durian on hills. Hoang Van Lu (village 2) with a model of growing sticky rice and durian on hills.

Mr. To Duc Vien confided that in the past, people still had difficulties, but now the economy is stable and developing. People have also boldly changed the structure of crops and livestock. Specifically, converting some hilly land areas to grow durian and raise swiftlets has brought quite high economic efficiency to the family.

Many people who are growing sticky rice in An Nhon fields say that growing sticky rice is quite “easy”, there are plows to plow the land, seed sowing machines to sow seeds, and combine harvesters to pack them into bags. Buying and selling is simple, when harvest time comes, you just need to go to the field and point to where your field is, the harvester will run for a moment, pack the bags, and traders will come and get them, and then you have money, in general, the scene of “the buffalo goes first, the plow follows after” is over.

Comrade Nong Ngoc Thien - Secretary of the Party Cell of Hamlet 8A said that the majority of the villagers are Tay and Nung people with 280 households, people from Cao Bang province came to settle in Da Teh since the 1990s. Currently, the villagers have a comfortable life, many households have billions of dong in income thanks to farming and raising livestock. About 50 households have converted old cashew gardens to grow durian.

According to the latest statistics, the multidimensional poverty rate of Da Teh commune is 121 households, accounting for 1.8%. Of which, the multidimensional poverty rate of ethnic minorities is 47 households, accounting for 2.1%. Therefore, in the coming time, the People's Committee of Da Teh commune will focus on disbursing capital from the national target program in 2025; continue to effectively implement the sustainable poverty reduction program, create conditions to help poor households in production and business, support preferential loans, mobilize social contributions to repair charity houses for poor households and households with housing difficulties. Focus on vocational training for rural workers and the poor, build pilot models, guide the application of technical advances for poor households and near-poor households to do business effectively; encourage people to develop services and small-scale industries to solve on-site labor problems.

Continue to implement the socio-economic development program for ethnic minority areas in terms of investing in essential infrastructure to serve production and people's lives in the region. At the same time, pay attention to preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic groups.

In Da Teh commune, there are 2,317 ethnic minority households with more than 10,300 people, accounting for 33.62% of the commune's population. Of which, the Tay people have 1,004 households/4,565 people, and the Nung people have 889 households/4,078 people.
