This year’s event was held in France. The Vietnamese national team had 5 students competing and all of them won medals, including 1 gold medal and 4 silver medals. Specifically:

Nguyen The Quan - a 12th grade student at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted ( Nghe An ) - won a gold medal.

Ly Ba Khoi - a 12th grade student at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences (University of Natural Sciences , Vietnam National University, Hanoi) - won a silver medal.

Truong Duc Dung - a 12th grade student at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences (University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) - won a silver medal.

Nguyen Cong Vinh - a 12th grade student at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted (Bac Ninh) - won a silver medal.

Tran Le Thien Nhan - 12th grade student at Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted (Hue city) - won a silver medal.

With 1 gold medal and 4 silver medals, the Vietnamese delegation is in the top 10 countries with the highest results in this year's competition. This achievement continues the series of impressive results that Vietnamese student delegations have achieved at international Olympic competitions over the years.

The results of the Vietnamese team at this year's exam continue to affirm the quality of general education as well as the right direction in discovering, selecting and nurturing talented and excellent students.

The 55th International Physics Olympiad was held in France from July 17 to July 25, with the participation of 94 delegations (including 5 observer delegations) from 94 countries and territories, with a total of 406 contestants.

The IPhO 2025 competition has two official exam days: one day of theory and one day of practical exam, each exam has a duration of 5 hours.

The theoretical and experimental exams demonstrate a sophisticated combination of modern physics and real-world phenomena, from the structure of hydrogen atoms to the structure of galaxies, from the oscillations of magnets to the formation of meteorite craters.

The problem of creating bubbles in a glass of champagne not only contains physics knowledge (related to pressure, acoustics, viscous friction...) but also has a unique cultural highlight, bringing French culinary tradition into the exam.

The experimental test consisted of two problems, requiring synthetic thinking and precise measurement skills; one of them involved landing and moving safely, avoiding getting bogged down in sand dunes on the surface of Mars by the rover.

The remaining entry uses a Gouy balance to measure magnetic moments, and is a meaningful tribute to the French physicist Louis Georges Gouy (1854-1926), who made many contributions to the study of magnetism and optics, expressing the spirit of gratitude to France's scientific heritage at this year's competition.
