Vietnam women's team receives sad news from FIFA after historic World Cup

According to the FIFA rankings in August 2023, the Vietnamese women's team dropped 4 places from 32nd to 36th in the world .

Another Southeast Asian team that just returned from the 2023 World Cup, the Philippines women's team, was awarded 31.36 points.

Specifically, the historic victory over New Zealand helped the Philippine women's team gain 41.34 points. Meanwhile, they were deducted 9.98 points after two losses to Switzerland and Norway.

The 31.36 points added helped the Philippines rise from 46th to 44th in the world, and surpass Thailand to become the number 2 team in Southeast Asia, after the Vietnamese women's team.

This is also the best achievement in the history of Philippine women's football.
