According to Associate Professor. Phan Thi Ha Duong, Head of the Program Board: “Open science is an important topical topic with many different perspectives in the digital transformation era when knowledge is no longer limited to academia or technology but has a direct and rapid impact on many businesses and economies , when that knowledge needs to be expanded and shared appropriately. However, the concepts of Open Science are still quite vague or scattered for many of us. The UNESCO “Recommendation on Open Science” issued at the plenary session from November 9 to 24, 2021 refers to the global nature of open science: An overall architecture including movements and implementations with the aim of making all multilingual scientific knowledge freely accessible, used and reused by everyone, to enhance collaboration and information sharing for the benefit of science, the community, and to open up the processes of creating, evaluating and communicating scientific knowledge to a wide range of people. form of social groups".

Therefore, with the desire to promote a common understanding of open science, its core values, challenges and different paths to open science, the Organizing Committee invited speakers from many different fields in society: Policy experts from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Information and Communications, managers from business associations, and leading prestigious scientists in Vietnam at major research institutes.

In addition, delegates attending the conference directly also include scientists, young people interested in the fields of science and technology and humanities to have open dialogues, contributing to creating diversity and intersection between different fields.

In the Public Lecture “Open Science Data”, Prof. Dr. Ho Tu Bao highlighted the importance and benefits of open data systems in scientific research, especially in the era of science and technology developing and changing every day like today. Prof. Ho Tu Bao supports an open science that brings harmonious benefits to internal sectors, ensuring integrity, fairness, and equality in sharing data and knowledge.

The public lecture "Convergent scientific research direction and the role of physics in evolutionary biology" by Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Toan mentioned a very new issue today, which is one of the driving forces for the development of open science, which is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research. The content of the lecture presents the trend of convergent research with examples of the application of physics in evolutionary biology.

Professor Nguyen The Toan supports an open science in which the strongest knowledge and techniques of different fields combine and converge to find solutions to nature's most complex problems.

The discussion was lively with many questions from many fields. The speakers frankly answered and discussed questions and comments from all delegates attending in person as well as through online channels right at the event.

The discussion received many questions, comments and counter-arguments from guest delegates.
