PRC Company announced the closing of the shareholder list to pay cash dividends in 2022 at a rate of 350% on March 31, equivalent to shareholders owning 1 share will receive 35,000 VND. With 1.2 million shares in circulation, PRC plans to pay 42 billion VND for this dividend, 3.5 times the charter capital. The expected payment date is April 20.

The "huge" dividend payment of up to 350% is quite surprising because PRC has never paid a dividend of more than 20% since its listing in 2010. Up to now, this is also the highest cash dividend rate in 2022 on the stock exchange. This information also pushed PRC's stock price to VND70,900 on March 8, 2.3 times higher than the market price at the beginning of the year.

Businesses pay huge dividends

In 2022, PRC recorded audited net revenue of VND107 billion. In addition, the company recorded VND64 billion in other profits from liquidation and sale of fixed assets. The above extraordinary profit brought PRC's after-tax profit in 2022 to nearly VND50 billion, while in previous years it was only a few billion VND. This is also the highest profit since PRC was listed on the HNX.

On the stock exchange, the previous champion in dividend payout ratio was Vinacafe Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company (VCF) when in 2018 it paid up to 660%, equivalent to 66,000 VND per share. However, in the following years, Vinacafe Bien Hoa's dividend ratio decreased to only about 250%, equivalent to 25,000 VND per share. However, if considering the dividend ratio received on the stock price, PRC shareholders have higher profits because the price is much lower than VCF.

Some businesses also recorded high dividend payments for 2022, but the rate is still lower than PRC. For example, Phan Thiet Garment Export Joint Stock Company on UPCoM expects the dividend for the whole year of 2022 to be equivalent to the rate for the whole year of 2021. This means that shareholders owning PTG shares will receive VND12,000/share, equivalent to a rate of 120%.

Vietnam Vegetable Oils Industry Corporation (Vocarimex) has announced the payment of special cash dividends to shareholders with an implementation rate of up to 100%, equivalent to shareholders owning 1 share receiving 10,000 VND. With nearly 122 million shares in circulation, Vocarimex plans to spend about 1,218 billion VND to pay dividends for this period...
