Thai Nien Temple is ranked as a provincial historical and cultural relic.

On June 6, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision 1790/QD-UBND on ranking Thai Nien Mau Temple as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.

Accordingly, based on relevant legal documents and considering the proposal of the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Submission 94/TTr-SVHTTDL dated June 5, 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to rank Mau Thai Nien Temple (Thai Nien Commune, Bao Thang District) as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.

The protected area of the relic is determined according to the Minutes of the protected area zoning and the Map of the protected area zoning in the relic scientific dossier.

Thai Nien Temple is ranked as a provincial historical and cultural relic.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Bao Thang district to develop a plan to protect, manage, restore and exploit the historical and cultural relic of Thai Nien Temple in accordance with current regulations of the State.

Thai Nien Temple is where people worship the First Mother of Heaven, incarnated as Mother Lieu Hanh.

Thai Nien Temple is located in Thai Nien village, Thai Nien commune, Bao Thang district. Thai Nien Temple was built in the early 20th century, and is a place to worship the First Mother of Heaven, incarnated as Mother Lieu Hanh. The First Mother of Heaven is popularly known as Duc Quoc Mau or Quoc Mau Vua Ba.

Next to Thai Nien Temple there is an ancient banyan tree over 200 years old.

Over the course of history, there was a time when the Thai Nien Temple was moved to another location, then caught fire, and the documents, ancient statues, and bells were no longer there. In 1980, the people of Thai Nien village rebuilt the temple in its old location as a place for spiritual and cultural activities of the community.

Thai Nien Temple is a construction with a long history, carrying many cultural and historical values associated with Thai Nien land, Bao Thang district and the history of the people's resistance war against French colonialism.

Thai Nien Temple was ranked by the Provincial People's Committee as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic, which is the basis for doing a good job of protecting, managing, restoring and exploiting the value of historical and cultural relics associated with local tourism development.
