Previously, at around 6:00 p.m. on August 9, while on duty collecting and issuing new party membership cards at the Bao Thang Commune Police Headquarters (Do Ngoai village, former Thai Nien commune), Captain Ban Van Thien suddenly received news from Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital No. 2 that they urgently needed a person with blood type A to donate blood for surgery on a terminally ill cancer patient.

Immediately, Comrade Thien reported to the Commune Police Commander, handed over the work and drove nearly 20 km to the hospital alone. There, he promptly donated blood to help patient Nguyen Thi Ha, born in 1976, residing in Group 4, Cam Duong Ward, Lao Cai Province overcome the critical condition.

After completing the blood donation, Captain Ban Van Thien visited and encouraged Ms. Ha to recover her health soon and stay strong to fight the disease.
Comrade Ban Van Thien's action not only saved a person's life, but also strongly spread the message "Every drop of blood given - A life remains", clearly depicting the image of a People's Public Security soldier who is always dedicated and wholeheartedly serving the people.
