Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress convenes 550 delegates

The first Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, convened 550 delegates; including 110 ex-officio delegates and 440 appointed delegates.

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has just decided to allocate delegates from ward, commune, special zone party committees and grassroots party committees to attend the first Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Executive Committee allocated delegates from ward, commune, special zone and grassroots party committees to attend the first Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress based on the number of party members and the characteristics and situation of the party committee. The summoned delegates were 550 delegates, including 110 ex-officio delegates and 440 appointed delegates.

Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress is expected to take place in early October.

The allocation of delegates is as follows:

First average allocation: allocate an equal number of delegates to the Party Committees under the City Party Committee, each Party Committee has 1 delegate.

Additional allocation based on the number of party members: Party committees with 1,700 or more party members will be allocated 1 more delegate for every 1,700 additional party members; for the remaining number of party members, if there are 850 or more party members, 1 more delegate will be appointed. Party committees with 850 to less than 1,700 party members will be allocated 1 delegate.

Additional allocation according to the characteristics and situation of the Party Committees: Party Committee of Party Agencies of Ho Chi Minh City 13 delegates; Party Committee of People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City 13 delegates; Party Committee of Public Security of Ho Chi Minh City 8 delegates; Party Committee of Military of Ho Chi Minh City 8 delegates; Party Committee of National University of Ho Chi Minh City 12 delegates; Party Committee of Cho Lon Ward 1 delegate.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Cho Lon ward has many party organizations and is a first-class hospital, so it is necessary to allocate the structure of the medical staff to represent scientists in the medical field.

Delegate standards for the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress

Delegates attending the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress must ensure the following criteria: have a firm stance, viewpoint, and political will; be loyal to Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the Party's goals and ideals; always put the interests of the Party, the Fatherland, and the people first and foremost; strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and resolutions and the State's policies and laws.

Regarding ethics and lifestyle: delegates must have pure revolutionary ethics; live honestly, modestly, and simply; practice what they preach; not engage in corruption, waste, or negativity; and resolutely fight against corruption, waste, negativity, and "group interests"; maintain solidarity and unity within the Party; have a high sense of organizational discipline, and strictly implement the Party's organizational principles, especially the principle of democratic centralism.

Regarding capacity and prestige: delegates must have high prestige, qualifications, knowledge, capacity, innovative thinking and scientific working methods; be able to detect and propose practical issues and actively participate in contributing to the decisions of the Congress. Have the conditions and capacity to thoroughly grasp, propagate, concretize and organize the implementation of the Party's Resolution into life.

At the same time, delegates must ensure good health to perform the duties of congress delegates.

The first Congress of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030 is expected to take place in early October 2025.
