The 1st Congress of Phu Thuy Ward Party Committee, term 2025-2030: Promoting the advantages of tourism, trade and services

As a coastal ward located in Mui Ne National Tourist Area, Southeast of Lam Dong province, Phu Thuy after merging from 3 wards of Phu Thuy, Thanh Hai, Phu Hai has advantages in tourism, trade, and services. These strengths have been and are being developed by Phu Thuy ward to accelerate breakthroughs in the new term 2025 - 2030.

Exploiting potential and advantages

Mr. Phan Nguyen Hoang Tan - Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of Phu Thuy Ward Party Committee said: “After the merger, Phu Thuy Ward has an area of 17.31 ^km2 , with a large urban population. A large part of the coastal area in the area is located in Mui Ne National Tourist Area approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1772 QD/TTg, dated December 18, 2018. This is an advantage for local tourism development in recent years. The coastal area of Phu Thuy Ward has attracted 30 tourism projects that have been and are being implemented, creating jobs for many young local workers. Located along the DT 706B tourist route, in addition to the complete commercial and service complex, there is also a 48-hectare land area preparing to be auctioned, attracting investors to build a commercial and service area, creating a modern urban appearance along this tourist route”.

To create a green, clean, and beautiful landscape, many members of the Phu Thuy ward's youth union have planted trees and flowers along the coastal area to harmonize the natural landscape. "Young people in Phu Thuy ward have planted thousands of purple Lagerstroemia trees on the hills, on both sides of the road leading to Lau Ong Hoang and Po Sah Inư tower. In a few years, there will be a hill of purple Lagerstroemia for tourists to check-in before visiting the historical and cultural relics," said Mr. Phan Nguyen Hoang Tan.

Along with tourism, trade and services have changed positively, initially forming service chains, tourism and small production establishments associated with local strengths. The whole ward has 10,127 enterprises and business households in the fields of trade, transportation, accommodation, food and beverage, consumer services, construction, tourism, seafood processing for export, production of traditional Phan Thiet fish sauce with many different names and recognized as 3-5 star OCOP products, favored by domestic and foreign markets.

Meanwhile, the Phu Hai storm shelter anchorage area has been upgraded by the province, serving fishing boats to anchor safely and fish offshore. The source of raw materials for processing frozen seafood, or brewing traditional fish sauce, is widely consumed in the market, increasing income for fishermen, business households, production facilities, and enterprises in the area. Trade promotion activities, trade connections, and market development contribute to improving the business environment, increasingly meeting the production and consumption needs of the people. Most production, business households, seafood processing facilities in the Phu Hai seafood processing cluster, and traditional fish sauce processing households comply with environmental protection regulations. The development of trade, services, tourism, and handicrafts in the right direction contributes to the total budget revenue in Phu Thuy area in the period of 2020 - 2025 reaching 856,788 million VND, ensuring budget expenditure of 105,647 million VND.

Coastal potential and advantages are still the highlight for this locality in the coming years. The political report submitted to the Congress of Phu Thuy Ward Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term clearly stated that "The economic structure is shifting towards gradually increasing the proportion of trade - services, tourism, and processing industry". In particular, the direction of coastal tourism in the overall development of Mui Ne National Tourism Area; focusing on green, sustainable tourism, diversifying types of tourism products (services, resort tourism, health care; sightseeing, experience, exploring traditional craft villages, local cuisine...) to create differences and highlights for tourism. The preservation of historical and cultural relics of Lau Ong Hoang, Po Sah Inu tower, the preservation of fishing villages, craft villages, and the protection of the coastal ecological environment are also focused on to "stimulate" tourism. At the same time, Phu Thuy Ward calls on large enterprises to invest in exploiting land funds, developing tourism, trade, and services; Taking advantage of provincial resources, investing in synchronous traffic connection with Phan Thiet Airport, attracting tourists. The locality encourages people and businesses to invest in equipment for catching high-value seafood, not only processing seafood for export but also serving culinary tourism. Along with that, Phu Thuy ward builds an e-commerce infrastructure system, improves goods and OCOP products to serve many customers for sightseeing and relaxation.

Infrastructure upgrade

The infrastructure in the ward has been and is being invested synchronously by the province to support socio-economic development and shift the local economic structure. Currently, the contractor is upgrading Thu Khoa Huan road, connecting Ham Tien - Mui Ne tourist route, ensuring convenient traffic for a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit and explore the relics and landscapes of Mui Ne National Tourist Area, or relax and swim in the clear blue beaches here. Tran Hung Dao road will be expanded at the end of this year, serving the increasing travel needs of people and tourists; upgrading Chau Van Liem and Ton That Tung roads and many internal roads connecting key areas in the ward, creating convenient travel for people and expanding business. The urban renovation of roads and parks is being focused on by Phu Thuy ward, gradually completing a civilized urban area, meeting the living needs of the people, attracting a large number of tourists to visit and explore the beautiful coastal scenery.

Phu Thuy Ward sets targets for the 2025 - 2030 term:
Strive to collect annual budget, throughout the term, to meet the target assigned by the province; mobilize people to participate in health insurance to reach 95%; maintain schools meeting national standards, wards meeting national standards on health; basically complete the targets on digital government, digital economy, digital society. Strive to have over 90% of party organizations and party members evaluated and classified as having fulfilled their tasks well or better every year; the rate of new party members admission reaches 3 - 4% of the total number of party members in the entire Party Committee.
