Ubon Ratchathani Royal University offers 160 scholarships to Vietnamese students

In the coming time, Ubon Ratchathani Royal University will award 160 scholarships to Vietnamese students studying 84 different majors at the school.

During his working trip to Ubon Ratchathani province from July 9, Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen, Mr. Dinh Hoang Linh, visited and worked at Royal Ubon Ratchathani University, one of the leading universities in the Northeast of Thailand.

The President of Ubon Ratchathani Royal University said that over the years, theeducational and training cooperation relationship between Ubon Ratchathani University and Vietnam has been increasingly developing. In particular, the two sides have actively implemented 17 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with many prestigious universities in Vietnam, helping to improve the quality of education and training in many fields of study of both sides. In the coming time, Ubon Ratchathani Royal University will award 160 scholarships to Vietnamese students studying 84 different fields of study at the university.

Associate Professor Dr. Kulwadee Lamaichin - Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities said that the number of Thai students choosing to study Vietnamese is increasing, demonstrating the interest of the young generation of Thailand, vividly reflecting the friendship and cooperation between the two countries that is increasingly developing and deepening.

Accordingly, Ubon Ratchathani Royal University wishes to cooperate with the Universities of Social Sciences and Humanities under the Vietnam National University , Hanoi and the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City in the field of training and teaching Vietnamese language and culture, meeting the needs of Thai and international students.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh highly appreciated the school's interest and goodwill to cooperate with Vietnam, affirming that this is a meaningful contribution in building a foundation for cooperation in education and culture, helping to enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

According to Mr. Dinh Hoang Linh, paying special attention to the young generation will actively contribute to concretizing the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which has just been upgraded.

The Consulate General of Vietnam is ready to accompany and support Ubon Ratchathani Royal University in expanding cooperation with Vietnamese partners, especially universities with capacity and prestige in research and teaching Vietnamese studies and Vietnamese language. In particular, enhancing exchanges of teachers and students in social sciences and humanities is a positive cooperation content that will bring practical results.

According to the representative of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, the Royal University of Ubon Ratchathani's interest in and creation of conditions for young generations of Thai people of Vietnamese origin to study Vietnamese language and culture not only supports the Vietnamese community in the host country, but also contributes to consolidating and enhancing the friendly and cooperative relations between the people of the two countries. The Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, Thailand hopes that the school will study the possibility of educational and training cooperation in a number of fields of study that Vietnam is interested in, such as science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

The working session marked a good start for a new phase of educational cooperation with many specific directions, aiming to expand the cooperation network between universities of the two countries, contributing to concretizing and deepening the Vietnam - Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the coming time.
