Exemplary veterans in building new rural areas

An Huu Commune Veterans Association launched a campaign to maintain environmental hygiene and join hands in building new rural areas in the locality.

With a total of 168 members currently active in 5 hamlet war veterans associations, the War Veterans Association of An Huu commune always maintains its political stance and promotes the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in peacetime. Each member is an active member in propagating and mobilizing people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, especially in raising awareness and action for the goal of building new rural areas in An Huu commune.

Chairman of the Association of War Veterans of An Huu Commune, Pham Tuan Vu, said that promoting the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres, members, and war veterans in building new rural areas, in recent years, the Association has proactively implemented the National Target Program on building new rural areas among cadres, members, and war veterans and proposed solutions with specific goals and tasks.

In particular, coordinating with departments, branches and unions of the commune to do a good job of propaganda; from there, each member and war veteran proactively and actively accompanies the locality to complete the new rural criteria, making the rural face of An Huu commune increasingly renewed.

In building the new rural area, the Association of War Veterans in An Huu commune mobilized members, war veterans and people to donate land, actively participate in working days to build infrastructure, apply scientific and technological advances in production, shift economic structure, develop family economy, increase income...

In the first 6 months of 2025, members and war veterans of An Huu commune donated 65 square meters of land, contributed 25 million VND in cash and 20 working days to build roads, dredge canals, and build social welfare works. In addition, the Association also maintains and develops the model of "Self-managed war veterans' road" in Hamlet 4; maintains the activities of the Association's Environmental Protection Club, with the launch of 5 campaigns to encourage people to put garbage in the right place, contributing to preserving the landscape and environment...

Not only contributing to the construction of the new rural area in terms of economy, infrastructure..., the Association of War Veterans of An Huu commune is also the main force in the movements to maintain security and order. The Association has coordinated to organize propaganda campaigns on the Law on Military Service, crime prevention and control; built and improved the quality of 24 self-governing People's Groups managed by War Veterans. Participating in grassroots mediation, reforming and educating violators is also part of the tasks that the Association of War Veterans of the commune regularly performs, helping to strengthen the great solidarity bloc and maintain rural peace.

The An Huu Commune Veterans Association is one of the strong associations, playing an important role in carrying out local political tasks. The association maintains regular activities with practical content, high membership participation rate, closely linking the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" with studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh.
