Workers not only work with their physical strength but also need to be creative, flexible and adaptable to the ever-increasing demands of the market. Improving the quality of human resources and taking care of workers’ lives are key factors to help businesses and the economy develop sustainably in the new era.
WORKERS PLAY A KEY ROLE
Workers play a key role in production and business, determining product quality, order progress and business efficiency. They not only operate machinery but also contribute to technical innovation, increase labor productivity, help businesses compete and develop sustainably. In the context of integration, workers' skills, discipline and sense of responsibility are increasingly important, contributing to building the business brand.
Workers and laborers are working at Cong Tien Garment Joint Stock Company (Go Cong City, Tien Giang Province). |
In Tien Giang, many enterprises focus on promoting the role of workers. A typical example is Advance Tire Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Long Giang Industrial Park, Tan Phuoc District), a subsidiary of Quy Chau Tire Joint Stock Company, with nearly 1,200 employees.
The company promotes welfare policies, optimizes work intensity, ensures nutritious meals, implements fair compensation and supports workers in difficulty. Thanks to that, the turnover rate remains below 3%, and the employee satisfaction rate reaches over 95%. The company has expanded its production scale, created 600 new jobs, contributed to stabilizing the lives of local workers and promoting economic development in Tien Giang.
The qualifications and skills of workers in Tien Giang are increasingly improved and enhanced thanks to the investment of enterprises in training. Young and dynamic workers are receptive to new technologies, meeting the production needs of the digital transformation period. However, a number of them still lack specialized skills, do not have vocational certificates, work according to old habits, and have not updated new technologies. In an environment with foreign elements, many workers have difficulty communicating and using modern equipment...
Based on the above limitations of workers, the Board of Directors of Cong Tien Garment Joint Stock Company (Go Cong City) determined that training is a priority, focusing on improving the expertise of technicians, production team leaders, and training young staff in the locality to meet human resource needs. The company has also completed the product quality management system, strictly controlled the production process, invested in modern equipment to improve productivity, reduce costs and optimize profits.
In addition, the Company maintains and improves occupational safety and hygiene standards, fire prevention and fighting, improves the working environment, and ensures workers' health. Welfare policies are well implemented to stabilize income and motivate working spirit.
The company also closely cooperates with mass organizations, launching the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers", encouraging initiatives and technical improvements. Individuals with outstanding achievements are promptly rewarded, creating motivation for long-term commitment to the company.
In general, to improve workers’ qualifications, it is necessary to promote training at enterprises, cooperate with vocational schools and organize practical training. At the same time, workers need to proactively study and practice skills to improve their skills, meeting the increasing demands of the labor market.
ACCOMPANYING WORKERS TO DEVELOP
According to the Tien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, the lives of workers and laborers in the province are currently relatively stable. Thanks to support policies such as increasing the basic salary and regional minimum wage from July 2024, the morale of workers, civil servants and laborers has been strengthened, motivating them to work enthusiastically and contribute to socio-economic development.
However, some difficulties still exist, such as the impact of drought and saltwater intrusion in the eastern districts. Labor disputes due to disagreements on regulations on attendance, salary, working hours, etc. Trade unions at all levels have actively monitored and promptly resolved work stoppages, while maintaining dialogue activities and supporting workers to stabilize their jobs and incomes.
In order to help workers adapt to the labor market in the new era, the Provincial Labor Federation proposed a number of solutions such as: Organizing courses and vocational training programs for workers to improve their skills, keep up with technological development trends and labor market needs.
Provide programs to assist workers in career transitions as industries or manufacturing technologies change. Train workers on new technology tools and software to help them become more productive and reduce the risk of being replaced by automation.
In particular, actively and proactively implement Resolution 57 dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation in building and developing the workforce of the province.
Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, enabling workers to work long-term without health problems. Expand social insurance, health care and housing support programs for workers, especially those in difficult circumstances. Create conditions for workers to participate in activities and seminars on work improvement, production efficiency enhancement and career development.
The above solutions not only help workers adapt to changes in the labor market but also help them have a stable life and sustainable development in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
