Vinicius joined the Bernabeu seven years ago at the age of 18, on one of the lowest wages in the squad. However, after proving his ability, he signed a new contract until 2022. The new contract will increase Vinicius' salary from €1.2 million to €4.7 million per season, with complex and performance-based clauses.
Since signing his new contract, Vinicius has been instrumental in Real Madrid's two Champions League titles in 2022 and 2024. The current contract runs until 2027, with a total value of up to 150 million euros over 5 seasons, meaning Vinicius receives an average of 15 million euros per year after tax.
The deal also includes significant bonus clauses, including a €2m bonus per season if Vinicius wins the 'The Best' award.
Real Madrid are currently facing a major challenge in renewing Vinicius' contract. His current contract expires in 2027. According to AS , Vinicius expects to receive 20 million euros/season in the new contract.
The pressure from Saudi Arabian clubs' offers has Real Madrid thinking twice. However, Los Blancos do not want to break the current salary structure. If Vinicius receives more than 15 million euros per year, he will have a higher salary than Kylian Mbappe. This could make Mbappe and Jude Bellingham also ask for a pay rise in the future.
Spanish media claim that Real Madrid are wavering over a €350 million offer for Vinicius from Saudi Arabia. This is an unprecedented fee for a winger, making it difficult for President Florentino Perez to ignore.
