On August 1, the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen" organized by Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper came to fishermen in Hue City.

The Organizing Committee presented 50 gifts to outstanding fishermen in difficult circumstances in Hue, each worth more than 4 million VND, including: battery sets, LED lights, battery combos, medicine bags, handbooks on things to know about fishing... At the same time, 20 scholarships (each worth 3 million VND) were given to the children of fishermen who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies, to give them more motivation to go to school.
The highlight of the 2025 program in Hue is to promote support for fishermen to develop a sustainable marine economy according to the Government's Project on developing marine aquaculture to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

According to the Organizing Committee, this program was held in 22 provinces and cities such as Phu Yen , Quang Tri, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Khanh Hoa, Ca Mau, Nghe An... with many practical activities such as legal seminars, yellow card removal workshops, "Responding to fishermen" dialogue, propaganda of IUU law, protection of the marine environment and sustainable development of the marine economy. More than 3,800 gifts and 600 scholarships were awarded, along with a series of medical examination and treatment programs, giving Tet gifts to the elderly, children and disadvantaged fishermen.

This is an activity of profound political, social and humanitarian significance, with a total implementation cost of more than 30 billion VND (starting from 2023), aiming to support people to go offshore and stick to the sea, contributing to removing the "yellow card" and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
