With the efforts of investors and local authorities, after nearly 7 months of construction, the inauguration ceremony of VinFast Electric Car Factory officially took place on June 29 with the participation of central and local leaders. This is the second VinFast car factory to come into operation.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vingroup Corporation informed: "The factory has a main workshop system including body welding, painting, assembly and many modern auxiliary areas. The production line is highly automated and operates according to strict international standards on quality management, environmental management and standards of the global automobile industry. In the first phase, the factory has a design capacity of about 200,000 vehicles/year, equivalent to an average production speed of 35 vehicles per hour".
Not only bringing direct values from the automobile manufacturing industry, the factory also creates opportunities for supporting businesses, from supplying components, materials to logistics services, to be connected to the supply chain, creating a synchronously developed industrial ecosystem. The presence of large investors such as Vingroup is also the foundation for the locality to continue attracting new waves of investment.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vingroup Corporation said: "By building a supporting industrial cluster right on the factory premises, attracting domestic enterprises to participate in the supply chain, VinFast Ha Tinh also contributes to realizing the goal of localization of over 80% by 2026 for VinFast".
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the VinFast Electric Car Factory, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai affirmed: "The factory's operation marks an important turning point for Ha Tinh in the process of realizing the orientation of green growth and sustainable development according to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Together with other key projects invested by Vingroup, the Electric Car Factory will make an important contribution to the budget revenue, create jobs and improve the lives of the people of the province. At the same time, it will create new momentum for Ha Tinh to continue to grow, becoming one of the development poles of the North Central and Central Coast regions".
Industry is the main growth engine of the economy, contributing significantly to the province's annual economic growth. In the context of the economy gradually recovering after many global fluctuations, the operation of a large-scale automobile factory will be a "new wind" to support the industry in particular and economic growth in general.
According to data from the Department of Industry and Trade, in the first 6 months of 2025, Ha Tinh's industrial production index is estimated to increase by 4.62% over the same period last year. Many products achieved higher output than the same period last year such as: lithium ion batteries increased by 647.8%, construction bricks increased by 118.5%, fibers increased by 30%, other construction stones increased by 30%, commercial electricity increased by 14.4%... Although there has been a clear recovery, the overall growth rate of the industry has not met expectations due to the impact of the export market, leading to difficulties in the production of steel - the main product of Ha Tinh industry and a decrease in output.
In 2025, to achieve the economic growth target of over 8%, Ha Tinh strives for industrial growth in GRDP to reach 13.14%. According to the assessment of the Department of Industry and Trade, in the second half of the year, along with factories producing packpin, cellpin, beer, steel, electricity, fiber, garment... in operation, VinFast Electric Car Factory will come into operation and Unit 1 of Vung Ang II Thermal Power Plant has been approved by the State Inspection Council for construction acceptance work, expected to be put into commercial operation next month, which will be the impetus for industrial growth.
Besides, currently, many industrial projects such as Vu Quang Hydropower Plant, VSIP Industrial Park infrastructure, Vinhomes Industrial Park, Gia Lach Industrial Park expansion... are being focused on implementation, which will also promote Ha Tinh's industrial development in the coming years.
“Large projects coming into operation will create new growth momentum, create jobs for workers, contribute to increasing the value of industrial production; complete infrastructure to attract many investment projects in industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province” – Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Le Xuan Tu said.
To promote industrial development in 2025 and the following years, the Department of Industry and Trade continues to focus on boosting production and business, especially for key products; supporting investors to remove difficulties and obstacles, speeding up the implementation of key industrial projects; continuing to attract investment projects in industrial parks and clusters; implementing the province's policies on supporting industrial development...
With large-scale projects and modern technology invested in the area, Ha Tinh is gradually rising strongly to become a bright spot on the industrial map of Vietnam. The provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, also aims to build Ha Tinh into a modern industrial province, with comprehensive and sustainable development, consistent with the viewpoint of green growth and sustainable development.
According to the plan, the development direction of the industrial sector is planned to develop in depth, creating a breakthrough in improving productivity, quality, and competitiveness of products, associated with the goal of ensuring conditions for green growth and sustainable development. Accordingly, in terms of long-term strategy, Ha Tinh continues to promote attracting investment capital into industries that create high added value and environmentally friendly products to develop the economy, contributing to transforming the economy towards green, sustainable, and high technology.
