Announcing the new leadership of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau on June 30

On June 23, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi signed a plan to organize the Ceremony to announce resolutions and decisions on the establishment of Ho Chi Minh City; Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and appoint leadership personnel for Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City merged the two provinces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Duong to become a new city, still called Ho Chi Minh City.

The new Ho Chi Minh City has an area of ​​over 6,772 km², a population of over 14 million people, with 168 commune-level administrative units, including 113 wards, 54 communes and 1 special zone.

The ceremony to announce important resolutions and decisions will be held on the morning of June 30. According to the plan, the announcement content includes:

Resolution of the National Assembly on the establishment of Ho Chi Minh City.

Decision of the Politburo on the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Decision of the Politburo on appointing the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Decision of the Secretariat appointing the Inspection Committee, Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the appointment of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the People's Council; Heads of committees of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Head and Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation.

Decision of the Prime Minister on appointing the Chairman and Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Decision of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

At the ceremony, decisions will also be presented and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will be introduced.

Also on June 30, from 2:00 p.m., Thu Duc City Party Committee and district and county Party Committees (before the arrangement) will simultaneously organize a ceremony to announce resolutions and decisions of Ho Chi Minh City related to 102 new wards and communes.

During this time, the Standing Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee also directed the affiliated localities (before the arrangement) to organize the Ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions of the province related to the administrative units at the commune level and special zones.
