Restructuring the agricultural sector towards modernity, efficiency and sustainability

(DN) - On the morning of August 22, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang chaired a conference with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and localities in the province on the results achieved by the industry in the first months of the year and the tasks set for the last months of 2025.

In the first 7 months of 2025, Dong Nai province's agricultural sector achieved many important results. The whole province has built 560 chains linking production and consumption of agricultural products. There was no shortage of domestic water and no damage to agricultural production due to saltwater intrusion in the province. The programs: New rural construction, One Commune One Product (OCOP), temporary housing elimination... all achieved positive results.

Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang highly appreciated the efforts of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and localities for the important results achieved in the first months of the year, creating a solid foundation for the completion of the year's goals. In particular, after the merger, the agricultural sector and communes have basically operated stably and organized effectively.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment and localities to continue to vigorously restructure the agricultural sector towards modernity, efficiency and sustainability. The focus is on transforming the structure of crops and livestock in accordance with ecological conditions and market demand; increasing the proportion of crops and high-value products; at the same time, strictly controlling diseases on crops and livestock, preventing major epidemics from affecting production.

Along with that, focus on building and expanding large raw material areas associated with product processing and consumption; promote the issuance of codes for growing areas, traceability of agricultural products, develop more organic and high-tech production models; maintain and protect existing forest areas; urgently develop a plan to prevent and fight forest fires in the dry season of 2025-2026.

The leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested localities and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to focus on natural disaster prevention and control, especially storms at the end of the year, to minimize damage. At the same time, continue to promote administrative reform and complete the drafting of 15 legal documents to submit to the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee for promulgation, creating a legal corridor for implementing sector management.
