Previously, Mong Hoang Thao Ngoc (11 years old) was found by the rescue team about 1 hour after the terrible flash flood and landslide swept away the entire Lang Nu village (Bao Yen district, Lao Cai ).

After two transfers from Bao Yen Hospital to Lao Cai Provincial Hospital, in the early morning of September 11, Ngoc was taken to the A9 Emergency Center of Bach Mai Hospital in a deep coma with multiple injuries. The most dangerous condition was the patient's severe pneumonia due to the accumulation of water and mud. Despite continuous lung filtration for 4 days, the fluid in the lungs was still cloudy.

Immediately afterwards, Bach Mai Hospital held a hospital-wide consultation and established a special task force with foreign experts and leading experts from the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases and the National Children's Hospital to treat the child. Specialized measures such as blood filtration, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopy, and antibiotics were immediately implemented.

“We have consulted documents around the world , but there are very few cases of such severe lung damage. In the first 2 weeks, there were times when the ray of hope seemed to have disappeared, but the team of doctors at Bach Mai Hospital did not give up. And the miracle happened,” said Director of Bach Mai Hospital Dao Xuan Co.

By October 9, little girl Mong Hoang Thao Ngoc was able to walk, communicate well, and breathe room air. Test results, diagnostic imaging, and clinical manifestations showed that the patient had recovered well.

“Today is a very fulfilling day for the Bach Mai Hospital team as we join in the joy of the family welcoming the child home,” Mr. Co added.

Ms. Hoang Thi Dip (mother of Mong Hoang Thao Ngoc) could not help but be moved when she saw her daughter healthy again. “I can only say sincere thanks to the doctors who devotedly treated her. Thanks to the doctors, my daughter and I can be together again,” Ms. Dip said.

Little Mong girl Hoang Thao Ngoc walked out of the hospital gate on her own two feet today with a bright smile on her lips. “I feel better now. I want to go back to Lang Nu to go to school with my friends,” Ngoc said.

After 50 days of professional efforts and dedication to the patients of the doctors and nurses of Bach Mai Hospital, with the close attention and direction of leaders from the Ministry of Health to the hospital and the coordination of domestic and international experts, the little girl Lang Nu miraculously revived.
