On the sidelines of the 4th Annual National Scientific Conference with the theme "Vascular Diseases - Destination of Specialties", taking place in Hue on June 6-7, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Uoc, President of the Vietnam Vascular Diseases Association, said that vascular diseases are very diverse.

With the theme "Vascular Disease - Destination of Specialties", the conference gathered leading domestic and foreign experts distributed according to each vascular disease field of the Association.

Accordingly, vascular diseases are very diverse, from aortic disease; limb artery disease; limb vein disease; carotid artery disease; visceral and renal artery disease; trauma - limb vascular injuries; trauma - central vascular injuries (abdomen, chest)...

In addition, there are genetic and congenital vascular diseases; hemangiomas, lymphangiomas...

In this conference, experts focused specifically on three topics for 2025: Carotid artery and vascular disease of the neck and neck base; Visceral artery and renal disease; Arteriovenous shunt/artificial kidney.

Associate Professor Uoc said that the rate of people hospitalized for metabolic disorders, cardiovascular diseases in general, especially vascular diseases, is increasing, with a tendency to get younger.

In addition to the causes of population aging and increased life expectancy, in young people, with modern lifestyle, work pressure, lack of exercise, and consumption of fast food, the risk of obesity, metabolic disorders, and increased atherosclerosis increases.

In addition, the habit of smoking and drinking a lot of alcohol... leads to an increasing risk of vascular disease.

According to doctors, to prevent cardiovascular diseases in general and vascular diseases in particular, people should do a lot of physical activities such as walking, light jogging; do not smoke, both actively and passively; limit beer and alcohol.

It is necessary to control high blood pressure, manage high blood cholesterol and diabetes.

According to Associate Professor Uoc, during the conference, there were more than 100 reports by professors, associate professors, doctors, and physicians from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Da Nang... who are leading experts in the field, providing valuable information for doctors, medical staff, and students of medical universities.
