Art program “Beautiful Hanoi”: Spreading love of heritage through music

On the evening of August 25, the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam organized the art program "How beautiful is Hanoi" at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic site, Hanoi. The event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

The art program “How beautiful is Hanoi” is organized to contribute to spreading the value of cultural and artistic values, at the same time arousing love and national pride, and at the same time contributing to bringing traditional music closer to the public, especially when the program is held at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic site, a space imbued with cultural heritage. Through folk melodies, the program leads the audience on a journey from the past to the present, contributing to spreading the value of folk songs and traditional musical instruments in modern life.

Speaking at the program, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam Le Xuan Kieu said that in recent times, the center has made efforts to organize many cultural, artistic, performing and creative activities, with the orientation of gradually turning the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam into a cultural center of the capital. Through art programs, he hopes that young people will increasingly know more about the heritage, while honoring the cultural values ​​left by their ancestors, nurturing the love of heritage.

The program opened with the song “Xinh tuoi Viet Nam” performed by the band Co La. Composed by musician Nguyen Hong Thuan. The song carries a message praising the Fatherland, depicting the image of a Vietnamese girl who loves life, confidently steps on a new path to develop the country and integrate internationally.

Throughout the program, the audience enjoyed traditional songs about Hanoi and Vietnam performed by the band Co La such as: "Remembering Hanoi", "Tay Nguyen Love Song", "Countryside Painting", "Hue O Horse", "Pieu Scarf", "Oh My Hometown". With a creative performance style, combining many traditional instruments such as the two-stringed fiddle, pipa, 36-stringed zither, monochord, flute, zither, T'rung... and youthful voices, the band Co La renewed folk songs and folk music with a modern breath while still preserving the rustic features.

In addition to the performance of the Co La group, the music night also featured the appearance of a generation of enthusiastic young artists. Artist Vu Thuy Linh is a talented face, with the desire to renew traditional music with creative thinking and the spirit of integration. Coming to “How beautiful is Hanoi”, Vu Thuy Linh brought a Xam melody in the song “Cong cha nghia me sinh sanh”.

One of the special moments of the music night was when artist Khanh Chung performed the song “Fruit Picking Season” on the T’rung instrument of the Central Highlands. That lively, joyful melody completely spread the joy of work to the audience.

The program "How beautiful is Hanoi" at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic site affirmed that heritage is not only a memory but also a source of creative inspiration, a bridge connecting tradition and modernity.
