Careful preparation for the merger of press agencies of 3 provinces Binh Thuan, Lam Dong, Dak Nong

BTO-On the afternoon of June 14, at the headquarters of Binh Thuan Newspaper, leaders of the press agencies of the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong held a meeting to agree on a plan to prepare for the merger into a joint press agency called Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio - Television (new). Attending the meeting were representatives of the leaders of 6 units: Lam Dong Newspaper, Lam Dong Radio - Television Station, Binh Thuan Newspaper, Binh Thuan Radio - Television Station, Dak Nong Newspaper and Dak Nong Radio - Television Station.

The meeting focused on discussing and agreeing on important contents to ensure that press and propaganda activities are not interrupted when the new local government begins operating from July 1, 2025, after the 3 provinces officially merge.

According to the merger plan, Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio - Television (new) will be a revenue-generating public service unit, operating press activities in accordance with Party regulations and State laws, under the direct and regular leadership of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. This will be the official mouthpiece of the Party Committee, government and people of Lam Dong province (new), and at the same time be a bridge of information between the Party, government and people.

With the propaganda function, the new agency is responsible for implementing information on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's and local laws; at the same time, launching patriotic emulation movements, fighting against negativity, refuting false arguments, and serving the spiritual life of people in the whole province.

After the merger, Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio - Television has 9 functional departments, including: Office; Editorial Secretariat; Service - Advertising - Distribution Department; Printed Newspaper Department; News Department; Electronic Newspaper - Digital Content Department; Special Topic Department; Ethnic Minority Program Department; Technical - Technology Department. With a total of 445 people, including 287 officials receiving state salaries and 158 contract workers according to Decree 111/2022/ND-CP, the unit will have a specific roadmap to streamline the payroll, rearrange personnel associated with job positions, ensuring compliance with regulations of the State and the Ministry of Home Affairs .

In particular, the new press agency will maintain two main headquarters, which are the current workplaces of Lam Dong Newspaper and Lam Dong Radio and Television Station; and at the same time, establish two facilities at the headquarters of Binh Thuan Radio and Television Station and Dak Nong Radio and Television Station to handle on-site work, keeping no more than 30% of the staff working at each facility. All usable assets and equipment will be transferred and centrally managed; technical means will be exploited economically and effectively; and at the same time, appropriate new investments will be proposed in the next development phase.

At the meeting, representatives of the units' leaders discussed in depth about the organization of content production of printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio and television programs, especially the software system for managing news and articles, the connection system of the converged newsroom model; information about the technical infrastructure related to transmission, broadcasting, and organization of production of radio and television programs; agreed to carefully prepare the printed newspaper issue and special programs on July 1, 2025 - the time when the two-level government of Lam Dong province will officially come into operation. At the same time, they discussed a number of contents related to personnel issues, handover work, financial mechanisms... to ensure strictness and compliance with regulations. At the same time, they suggested that it is necessary to do a good job of ideological work so that cadres, civil servants, and workers can work with peace of mind.

Therefore, with the spirit of merger to increase strength, the current 6 agencies will soon become a unified block, with enough political, professional, technological and technical capacity to meet the propaganda requirements in the new development stage...
