Military Region 7 Command meets with news agencies and press

BTO-On the afternoon of June 17, Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 7 chaired a meeting with leaders of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Department of Culture and Sports of provinces and cities; news agencies and newspapers in the Military Region to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

On behalf of the Party Committee and the Military Region 7 Command, Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc expressed his excitement and joy to welcome the delegates; acknowledged the attention, coordination and support of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commissions of the Provincial and Municipal Party Committees; the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 8 provinces in the area; and news agencies and newspapers for Military Region 7.

Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc highly appreciated the achievements and great contributions of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press to the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland over the past 100 years.

In the coming time, Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc suggested that press agencies in the Military Region coordinate to promote strategic propaganda on national defense and security in performing three functions: combat army, working army, production labor army, especially training activities, combat readiness, prevention and control of natural disasters, epidemics, rescue and relief; effectively build all-people national defense, build all-people national defense posture associated with people's security posture and build defense zones in the Military Region. Press agencies focus on creating high consensus of the whole society on the policy of arranging local military organizations in the process of renewing the political system and building 2-level local governments.

Major General Tran Vinh Ngoc also requested news agencies and newspapers to continue to maintain, expand and improve the quality of special pages, columns, news, articles and photos reflecting military , national defense and defense foreign affairs activities; and to propagate important political events of the Party, State and Army that are about to take place.

For the upcoming activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Military Region 7's Traditional Day (December 10, 1945 - December 10, 2025), Military Region 7 will organize propaganda and education activities; emulation and reward activities; cultural and artistic activities, physical education and sports; policy work, mass mobilization, construction of commemorative works; especially organizing the 80th anniversary of Military Region's Traditional Day.

At the meeting, representatives of the press agencies respectfully thanked the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the Party Committee, and the Military Region 7 Command for their attention, coordination, and support of the units in the propaganda work on security and national defense. In the coming time, the central and local press agencies hope to continue to receive support, coordination, and information provision from the Propaganda Department and the Political Department of Military Region 7.

On this occasion, the Military Region 7 Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 23 collectives and 52 individuals with outstanding achievements in coordinating propaganda activities of the Military Region's armed forces in 2024 and the first 6 months of 2025.
