Firm belief
The Shining Vietnamese Values Contest 2023-2025, organized by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper (SGGP) in collaboration with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, is a practical activity that contributes to spreading positive values, aiming to limit bad and negative things in society. This journey is measured by specific and impressive numbers. In 2 years, 4 stages of the contest, with more than 600 entries, SGGP Newspaper selected to publish 263 articles and video clips about outstanding factors and positive stories.
One of them is the journey to define the intellectual strength and courage of the Vietnamese Gen Z generation by young people Trinh Hai Dang, Tong Chi Thong, and Le Nguyen Cong Danh in the work "Not Far Away Aspiration"... Facing the challenges of the intersection of the times, they are three of many young people who have firmly believed in their mindset to generalize about their own generation - daring to think to act.
Young people are tirelessly shortening the gap… of experience through their own unique journeys, living strongly, thinking boldly and acting decisively. Within the individual aspirations of young people, there are also expressed the common ambitions of the nation and people.
In Ireland in 2024, among hundreds of strong competitors, the engineering team of Viettel Cyber Security (VCS) won the championship at Pwn2Own - one of the largest and most prestigious cyber security competitions in the world. In the work Pwn2Own Victory, affirming Vietnamese intelligence, the story of affirming intelligence - the level of "made in Vietnam" technology in one of the largest cyber technology arenas is "narrated" arrogantly.
Not stopping at the results of victory, the remaining value that makes us proud is the journey of effort, trying, and daily progress of Vietnamese hands and minds.
Or like the character of Dr. Kieu Tuan (now over 90 years old), one of the founders of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (now Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology), has had a long journey of building a dynamic learning environment for many young people to study and start their careers. The value he contributed to his homeland is not easy to name, because it is present through the success of generations of students who graduated and contributed to the country.
In the sky, the pilots in the video clip Mastering the Fatherland's Sky did not fear danger to protect the peaceful sky, because under their wings is always the Fatherland. They carried out their mission with such a sacred and unchanging concept.
From the fields, to the lab, to the marketplace, wherever they are, the children of Vietnam always carry within them an innovative mindset, a determination to break through, and perseverance in serving. The contest Shining Vietnamese Values has started a journey so that beautiful values continue to be durable and vibrant.
Cool breeze between the intersections
“There are many people in society who choose to give as a way of life, or who work hard to glorify the country and the good values of the Vietnamese people… Spreading good values is the starting idea and also the mission throughout the contest Shining Vietnamese Values”, affirmed journalist Nguyen Khac Van, Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of SGGP Newspaper, Head of the contest’s Organizing Committee. True to the spirit of the contest, many examples of good people and good deeds are conveyed and awarded after each entry.
Like "police officer" Hai Anh who has become the "foster brother" of thousands of children in the highlands of Moc Chau; or like Ms. Ino Mayu (Japanese) who chose Vietnam as her second homeland, then founded the non-governmental organization Seed To Table, decided to travel to villages to help farmers do clean agriculture, with the hope of promoting ecological agriculture, being friendly to the environment and supporting community development in Vietnam... Just like that, many people are willing to "go to the press" not only to tell their own stories, but also to share good things with the community throughout their homeland.
Following the entire journey of the contest, comrade Tang Huu Phong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, commented: “The contest has a very positive value in social life. Typical characters, young faces, good stories are deeply and truthfully expressed in SGGP Newspaper, bringing cool emotions to society. I am sure that this will create community inspiration, promote good actions, and bring better values to our country and people.”
Seemingly going beyond the limits of competition, Shining Vietnamese Values is a collective work on the journey of inspiration. Positive stories constantly reach out, spread, and touch the hearts of the public to arouse the desire to position Vietnamese values. The characters and stories step out of the newspaper pages, embarking on a new journey that is more vivid and enduring in everyday life.
“Through vivid journalistic works, new and typical factors in all areas of social life are vividly portrayed, contributing to spreading Vietnamese values, making positive information mainstream in newspapers and social networks. At the same time, creating an important source of data to educate compassion for union members and young people, helping to orient and form a system of standard values for Vietnamese people in the new era”, Comrade Bui Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union, affirmed.
Today is the award ceremony of the Shining Vietnamese Values contest 2023-2025
Within the framework of the 100th anniversary celebration of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), this afternoon (June 19), at the SGGP Newspaper Cultural and Professional Building, SGGP Newspaper coordinated with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to organize the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the Shining Vietnamese Values contest 2023-2025.
