National Assembly Chairman signs resolution to discipline 2 former Chairmen of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue signed resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on disciplining two former Chairmen of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province, Nguyen Van Doc and Nguyen Duc Long.

According to this resolution, the National Assembly Standing Committee will discipline Mr. Nguyen Duc Long by removing him from the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province for the 2011-2016 term and Mr. Nguyen Van Doc from the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province for the 2011-2016 term and the 2016-2021 term.

These two former leaders were identified as having violations and shortcomings in their work and the Secretariat has taken party discipline.

A day before, the Prime Minister also decided to discipline these two personnel by removing their positions as Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province.

The implementation of disciplinary measures against party organizations and party members with violations and shortcomings by the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee was considered and decided by the Politburo and the Secretariat on October 5.

The Politburo and the Secretariat found that the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term violated the Party's principles and regulations, and working regulations; loosened leadership and direction, and lacked inspection and supervision, allowing the Provincial People's Council Party Delegation, the Provincial People's Committee Party Executive Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and many affiliated Party organizations to violate Party regulations and State laws.

In which, the Politburo and the Secretariat determined that Mr. Nguyen Van Doc, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, violated the principle of democratic centralism, Party regulations, Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

Mr. Doc signed and allowed his subordinates to sign a number of documents that violated Party regulations and State laws. The former Secretary of Quang Ninh was also irresponsible, lax in leadership, direction, inspection and supervision, allowing many violations to occur in projects and bidding packages implemented by the International Progress Joint Stock Company (AIC) and the FLC Group Joint Stock Company, causing great losses to the State budget.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Duc Long and several other former leaders of Quang Ninh were also determined to have violated the principle of democratic centralism, Party regulations, working regulations, regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

These former officials and leaders signed many documents that violated Party regulations and State laws; lacked responsibility, slackened leadership, direction, inspection and supervision, allowing many violations to occur in projects and bidding packages implemented by the International Progress Joint Stock Company (AIC) and the FLC Group Joint Stock Company. This caused great damage to the State budget.
