This is the largest tournament of the year for young people in the traditional Vietnamese martial arts community. The martial artists participating in the tournament are aged from 6 to 17, divided into many appropriate age groups: the age groups from 12 - 13 and 14 - 15 compete on the mat, the age group 16-17 competes on the stage according to national standards.

In particular, this is the first time the tournament for young people is held outdoors and performed on a large stage at Lam Son Square - the cultural and political center of Thanh Hoa province. This demonstrates the deep concern of central and local leaders for promoting the value of national martial arts.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's tournament is not only a purely sporting event but also an opportunity to promote and honor the heritage of traditional Vietnamese martial arts, an indispensable part of the national cultural flow. The tournament is also a practical activity in response to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and to celebrate the country's major holidays in 2025.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Chairman of the Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts Federation, affirmed: “The National Youth Traditional Martial Arts Championship is a useful playground, contributing to encouraging the young generation to practice physical training, foster martial arts qualities and national pride. This is also an opportunity to discover new talents, adding strength to the national traditional martial arts team in the future.
