Ivory Coast National Assembly President begins official visit to Vietnam

The official visit to Vietnam by President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast Adama Bictogo will mark a new step forward in the friendly relationship between the two countries.

On the afternoon of June 13, the plane carrying National Assembly Chairman Adama Bictogo and the high-ranking delegation of the Ivory Coast National Assembly (Côte d'Ivoire) landed at Noi Bai Airport ( Hanoi ), starting an official visit to Vietnam from June 13-16, at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

Welcoming the delegation at the airport were Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Le Anh Tuan, leaders of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Department, Protocol Department and International Cooperation Department.

Accompanying the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast Adama Bictogo on his visit to Vietnam were Vice Presidents of the National Assembly: Diawara Mamadou, Brou Adjoua Jeanne Epouse Peuhmond; Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Thomas Pogabaha Camara; Chairman of the Research, Science, Technology and Environment Committee Guirieoulou Kohou Emile; Member of Parliament, in charge of the budget of the National Assembly Diomande Abdoul Karim; Member of Parliament, Advisor to the President of the National Assembly Benie Brou Dakoi; Ambassador of Ivory Coast to China and concurrently to Vietnam Adama Dosso, Counselor of the Embassy of Ivory Coast to China and concurrently to Vietnam Bogui Blaise Marcel Aristide; Honorary Consul of Ivory Coast to Vietnam Nguyen The Phiet; Director of the Protocol Department Diabate Adama.

During the visit, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast Adama Bictogo laid a wreath at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs; visited Uncle Ho's Stilt House; greeted President Vo Van Thuong; met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; attended the official welcoming ceremony and held talks with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; and attended an official reception.

President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast Adama Bictogo is expected to have working sessions with a number of ministries, sectors and localities of Vietnam and have a number of sideline activities such as visiting the National Assembly House, the National History Museum and Ha Long Bay.

The official visit to Vietnam by President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast Adama Bictogo will mark a new development step for the friendship that has lasted nearly half a century, promoting multi-faceted cooperation such as politics - diplomacy, economics, trade - investment, labor, people-to-people exchange... between the two countries.
