Hai Duong's provincial competitiveness index increased by 15 places.

Hai Duong ranked 17th nationwide in terms of provincial competitiveness index in 2023.

According to the announcement of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on the morning of May 9 in Hanoi , in 2023, Hai Duong ranked 17th in the country, ranked 5th out of 11 provinces and cities in the Red River Delta in terms of provincial competitiveness index (PCI) with 68.68 points, an increase of 3.46 points and an increase of 15 places compared to 2022.

Of the 10 component indices, Hai Duong has 7 indices that have increased in points: market entry, time costs, informal costs, fair competition, provincial government dynamism, labor training, legal institutions and security and order. 3 indices that have slightly decreased in points: land access, transparency, and business support policies.

In the 2023 national PCI rankings, Quang Ninh continues to lead, followed by Long An province. The localities: Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Dong Thap hold positions in order of 3, 4 and 5.

PGI Index Ranking 2023

Regarding the Provincial Green Index (PGI) in 2023, Hai Duong ranked 25th in the country, down 19 places compared to 2022. The province has 3 out of 4 component indexes with high scores: minimizing pollution and natural disasters, ensuring compliance with environmental protection regulations, and encouraging and supporting service policies. 1 component index with a score decrease is promoting green practices.

In the 2023 PGI rankings, Quang Ninh continues to be the leading locality in the country, followed by Da Nang City. Hung Yen, Ho Chi Minh City, and Tay Ninh hold the 3rd, 4th, and 5th positions.

The PCI and PGI rankings in 2023 were built from feedback from 10,676 enterprises, including 9,127 domestic private enterprises and 1,549 foreign-invested enterprises operating in Vietnam.
