President Gianni Infantino instructs President Donald Trump to present the championship trophy to Chelsea
Speaking to DAZN - the broadcaster that holds the rights to broadcast the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup - the US president said the original trophy was personally handed to him by FIFA president Gianni Infantino during his visit to the US in March.
"Gianni said, can you hold this trophy for a while? I asked when FIFA would take the trophy back, and Gianni replied, "We will not take it back. You can keep this trophy in the Oval Office forever. We will make a new trophy."
"FIFA did indeed make a new trophy and the original trophy is with us now," the US leader said.
The original trophy is kept in the Oval Office at the White House, according to the US President.
At a press conference during Gianni Infantino's visit in March, President Donald Trump said he had "never seen a trophy as unique and as big as the FIFA Club World Cup trophy".
"If Mr. President likes it, he can leave it here, just come July 13, bring the trophy to the stadium so we can present it to the winners.
They can take pictures with the trophy, then we bring it back here," Infantino said with a bit of a joke.

Mr Trump nodded before saying "Let's leave it here" and "We'll leave it here, at the White House, for quite a while." The awards ceremony created an awkward situation when Chelsea players were visibly confused by the presence of the US president in the squad holding the championship trophy.
Cole Palmer, who was awarded the "Golden Ball" for the tournament's best player, looked the most confused of the team as Mr Trump remained on stage.
"I knew he was going to be here, but I didn't know he was going to be there when we lifted the trophy, so I was a bit confused," Palmer said after the match.
