At the age of 18, while studying medicine, Le Duong Thanh suddenly dropped out to pursue his passion for tattooing. At that time, tattooing was not popular, so he encountered many prejudiced looks.
Not giving up, the 9x guy went online every day to learn and started practicing tattooing to make a living. When he had some skills, he returned to his hometown to start a business but was met with disapproval from relatives and neighbors.
Bringing Vietnamese tattoo art to the world
Despite many failures and curses, Thanh clearly knows that his dream flows in his blood and nothing can defeat it. To prove his ability, in early 2015, he started registering to participate in tattoo competitions at home and abroad.
In early 2015, Thanh began registering for tattoo competitions at home and abroad to prove his ability. After 10 years, Le Duong Thanh has won more than 50 large and small awards, becoming a famous tattoo artist in the profession.
In July 2022, at the Bali Tattoo Expo 2022 competition held in Indonesia, the LA tattoo family team of tattoo artist Le Duong Thanh surpassed 110 teams to win 4 grand prizes. In October 2022, at the Saigon Tattoo Expo 2022 competition - the largest tattoo convention in Southeast Asia, LA tattoo family continued to become the team with the most awards.
In December 2022, Le Duong Thanh continued to Singapore to participate in a new competition. Here, he received 2 more prestigious awards from the Organizing Committee. In early 2023, Le Duong Thanh and LA family tattoo won more than 20 international awards.
“When I participated in an international competition, when asked and found out that I was Vietnamese, many people were amazed, which made me very proud! Now, my biggest goal is to contribute to bringing tattoo culture to everyone, and at the same time show how this art form is developing in Vietnam,” Le Duong Thanh proudly shared.
A common home for people with the same passion
Not only focusing on participating in international competitions to bring the Vietnamese tattoo industry to a higher level, Le Duong Thanh also organizes charity activities to help people in difficult circumstances or train and help many young people who are passionate and want to stick with the tattoo profession.
Recently, he decided to build a large tattoo shop with an area of 400m2 in Tan An City ( Long An ). This will be the workplace for 15 professional workers and training for more than 100 students in the profession.

Sharing about this great achievement, Mr. Thanh said that it took a lot of time and money to build the shop to create a difference in the experience of both workers and customers.
Since its establishment, Mr. Thanh has wanted to have a place for the artists to work comfortably and freely express their work. At the same time, with luxury in every detail, he wants everyone to have a friendly perspective to help the tattoo profession develop more and more.
