Flash flood and landslide warning due to heavy rain

In the past 24 hours (from 08:00 on August 9 to 08:00 on August 10), there has been moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places in the province such as: Ban Ngo: 168mm (Pa Vay Su), Xuan Minh1: 88mm (Thong Nguyen); Nam Ty: 84mm (Nam Dich).

Soil moisture models show that some areas in the province are near saturation (over 80%) or have reached saturation.

The provincial Hydrometeorological Station warns that in the coming time, areas in the province will continue to have rain with common accumulated rainfall in areas from 5-15mm, some places over 40mm. Heavy rain will have a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides in steep terrain, areas with weak and unstable soil and rock structures, construction works and flooding in low-lying areas, along rivers and streams, and urban flooding.

Flash floods, landslides, land subsidence and inundation can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy structures and cause damage to economic and social activities.
