Warning of serious violations of food safety

The Food Safety Department has just issued a warning about a serious violation of food safety regulations. That is the act of using imported cooking oil intended for animal feed to produce and process into cooking oil for human food.

The Food Safety Department recommends that food production and trading establishments, especially collective kitchens and ready-to-eat meal suppliers, should request suppliers to clarify the product's declaration and raw material records, not just rely on packaging and labels. Do not use raw materials for purposes other than those declared in food processing, even if there are sufficient invoices and documents. When detecting any suspicion, please promptly inform the competent authorities for handling according to regulations. Any act of intentionally using raw materials for purposes other than those registered for food processing, especially in cases where raw materials are not safe for consumers, will be strictly handled according to the provisions of law.
