On the morning of August 24, SU-30MK2 and Mi helicopters practiced at Ba Dinh Square to prepare for the A80 parade.
A total of 31 aircraft participated, including 10 helicopters; 3 transport aircraft CASA 295 and CASA 212i; 6 Yak-130; 4 L-39NG and 8 SU-30MK2 fighters. The aircraft took off and landed at Hoa Lac, Gia Lam ( Hanoi ) and Kep (Bac Ninh) airports.
Following the helicopter formation were three CASA transport C-295s and C-212i. The CASA C-295 is more than 24 m long, has a wingspan of nearly 26 m, is more than 8.6 m high, has a range of 4,600 km, and can carry up to 71 people or more than 9 tons of cargo. The CASA C212 is 16.2 m long, has a wingspan of more than 20 m, has a range of 1,811 km, and can carry 26 soldiers or 2.7 tons of cargo.
This was also the first time the L-39NGs participated in training in preparation for the grand ceremony. These aircraft maintained a step formation with a stable distance and spacing of 20 m, a height difference of 5-7 m, entering the grandstand area at an altitude of 250 to 300 m.
