Vietnam Financial Forum 2025: Connecting the global financial network

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the morning of August 28, the People's Committee of Da Nang city coordinated with the Central Policy and Strategy Committee to organize the Vietnam Finance Forum 2025. This is the central event in the series of events of Da Nang Finance and Technology Week 2025.

In his opening speech, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that the Da Nang Finance and Technology Week 2025 is an important event, demonstrating the proactiveness, determination and efforts of Da Nang City in promoting its potential and advantages; creating new development spaces, creating growth drivers, contributing to the completion of the economic target for 2025 and the double-digit growth target for the period 2025 - 2030.

At the same time, the event is also associated with the synchronous implementation of the "four pillar resolutions" of the Politburo on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, international integration and perfecting the institution for private economic development.

The forum focuses on three core areas: Finance, digital transformation and semiconductor industry - sectors identified as key to promoting science - technology , innovation and international integration. The goal of the forum is to connect management agencies, experts, scientists, businesses, domestic and foreign investors to discuss and contribute ideas on mechanisms and policies to promote the formation of Vietnam's International Financial Center, including Da Nang.

The presentations of experts, scientists and businesses will contribute to speeding up the implementation of tasks, improving the effectiveness of coordination between levels and sectors, and soon turning Da Nang into a modern international financial center, in line with international standards according to the policies of the Party, National Assembly and Government.

Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, said that blockchain technology and semiconductors are two of the 11 strategic technology areas that need to be prioritized for research, development and mastery. Blockchain will focus on products and services such as digital assets, digital currencies, encryption, blockchain network security and traceability systems; while semiconductors will focus on research, development, trial production, commercialization and technology transfer.

"Organizing the event right before the 23rd City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, is of special significance, affirming the goal of turning Da Nang into a new growth pole, a sustainable urban area based on science - technology, innovation and international integration," said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi.

Speaking at the forum, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang affirmed that the world is entering the digital era with an unprecedented speed of change, when technology is both a driving force and a challenge for socio-economic development. The fields of finance, digital technology, blockchain, semiconductors or green finance are no longer distant concepts but have become mainstream trends , directly affecting the structure and growth dynamics of the global economy.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang emphasized that for Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular, seizing opportunities from these fields is of particular importance. Because, while major financial centers in the world are reshaping their development models based on innovation and technology application, Da Nang has advantages in terms of location, infrastructure, human resources and policy orientation to become a new growth pole of the Central region and the whole country .

The Finance and Technology Week took place from August 28-30, organized by the People's Committee of Da Nang City in coordination with the Central Policy and Strategy Committee. The key event of the week was the "Vietnam Finance Forum 2025" held in person and online, bringing together more than 500 delegates, representing nearly 30 diplomatic missions, more than 50 international experts and speakers, and many large and reputable organizations, businesses, and investors.

With the theme "Connecting Vietnam's International Financial Center with the global financial network", the forum will open a space for multi-dimensional exchange and discussion, especially the necessary mechanisms and policies to realize the aspiration of developing an international financial center in Vietnam.

In addition, "Da Nang Finance and Technology Week 2025" also has two other important events: "Vietnam Blockchain Festival 2025" held on August 29 and "Da Nang Semiconductor Day 2025" taking place on August 30 at the City Administration Center.

This series of events not only promotes the application of advanced technologies such as blockchain and semiconductors in key economic sectors but also creates a bridge for scientists, businesses and investors to cooperate, exchange and research, and transfer technology.
