Singer Le Viet Anh borrows the legend of Saint Giong to tell the story of a nation striving to grow.

The song "Giong Tu Do" not only expresses pride in the nation's tradition of fighting and defending the country, but also conveys the aspiration to rise up and make Vietnam "become a dragon" at the present time.

On August 19, singer Le Viet Anh introduced to the audience the music video (MV) “Giong Tu Do” in collaboration with Meritorious Artist Duong Thuy Anh (erhu). The product marks a new experiment of the male singer, bringing the audience to a unique blend of contemporary folk music and pop/rock.

The fusion of tradition and modernity creates a musical space that is both delicate and powerful. On that musical background, Le Viet Anh's voice is considered the highlight, like a story about the ancient story of Saint Giong - from a boy who rose to become a hero to defeat the An invaders, regaining independence for the nation.

The song's author, Huy Tran Jack, shared: "After witnessing Le Viet Anh try more with theater, musicals, and especially works related to culture, patriotism, and history, I immediately thought of a completely new direction for Viet Anh, which is modern, youthful pop/rock songs that easily reach the hearts of popular music listeners, but still convey a heroic and novel epic message."

According to the author, Saint Giong is closely associated with the history of building and defending the country of Vietnam with many meanings and emotions. The story of Saint Giong represents the desire for freedom of the Vietnamese people in ancient times, and the desire to rise up and turn Vietnam into a dragon at the present time.

Le Viet Anh said he is very passionate about this project, because it is not just a song, but also expresses the aspirations of every Vietnamese person when facing the era of rising up, everyone wants to contribute their efforts to the development of the country. Therefore, this MV is not only simply retelling the old story, but also a call to arms, rekindling pride in national history, gratitude to the generations of ancestors from thousands of years ago, firmly stepping into the new era with friends from all over the world./.

Le Viet Anh won the second prize at Sao Mai 2011, the award for Excellent Singer at Sao Mai Diem Hen 2012 and made his mark with many ballads such as "Lover" and "Clouds." In 2019, he released the album "Nu Cuoi Mat La" with songs about mother, homeland, country, a duet with Dang Tuan Phuong, and organized the live show "Uoc Nguyen Phu Sa" to mark his 10-year singing career.

In April 2024, Le Viet Anh continued to surprise with the album "Other Sky" including 7 compositions by musician Do Bao.

Besides singing, the male singer also achieved success in musical theater with the leading role in “Waves” of the Youth Theater and the role of Nguyen Ngoc Vu - the first Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee in the play “Fire from the Earth.”
