Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan emphasized that this is the most complicated case ever performed in Vietnam, marking a professional miracle in the field of fetal medicine.

The intervention not only gave a chance to live to a creature that was predicted to die in the womb, but also clearly demonstrated the intelligence, compassion and aspiration to conquer the pinnacle of medicine of the Vietnamese medical team.

This is considered an important milestone, bringing fetal medicine in Vietnam to a new stage of development.

This success shows that the Vietnamese medical team is fully capable of accessing, mastering and pioneering in the application of super-specialized techniques - techniques that are only deployed at the world's leading medical centers.

The Deputy Minister of Health affirmed that this is a vivid proof of the development potential of fetal medicine in Vietnam, opening up prospects for regional cooperation and making our country a specialized center for fetal medicine and individual medicine in Southeast Asia and Asia.

“Miracles like today need to continue to be a source of inspiration for the entire medical industry. We must boldly step out of the ‘safe zone’ of therapeutic medicine, to move towards preventive medicine, early intervention and precision medicine, for a healthy Vietnam from the womb,” Deputy Minister Thuan shared.

On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Health also requested the Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management to guide Tu Du Hospital and Children's Hospital 1 to complete the procedures to submit to the leaders of the Ministry of Health for approval, to officially deploy the fetal heart catheterization technique in the coming time.
