Grealish's turning point

Jack Grealish insists Everton helped him rediscover his passion for football after a forgettable spell at Manchester City.

The 29-year-old midfielder made a brilliant start to life at Hill Dickinson Stadium, scoring twice in a 2-0 win over Brighton. After the match, former player Jamie Carragher praised Grealish's performance, naming him Man of the Match.

Speaking to the press, Grealish shared: "I want to come here to enjoy football, feel the joy every day. Maybe in the past two years, I have not enjoyed football fully."

In 90 minutes on the pitch, Grealish had 3 passes that created opportunities, and 1 good chance that was missed by his teammates. He also contributed positively to the defensive front with 1 shot blocked and 3 successful tackles. Grealish was given 8.7 points by Sofascore - only less than goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (9 points).

The England midfielder also said the warm welcome from everyone on Merseyside helped him recover. "I've been here for about 10 days and I've enjoyed it. Everyone has been fantastic. The manager has been really good to me, always talking to me and making me feel loved," Grealish added.

This victory brought joy to Everton fans and gave Grealish more confidence for the rest of the season.
