The leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi recently said that they have urgently coordinated with units in charge of registration and virtual filtering to review data and find solutions. The officially announced plan is to accept both types of D66 combinations, depending on the general education program that candidates are studying.

For students of the old program (2006): D66 includes Literature - English - Civic Education. For students of the new program (2018): D66 includes Literature - English - Economic and Legal Education.

Accordingly, candidates who meet the required score according to the combination of points suitable for the study program will be considered for re-admission. The school also affirmed that if it leads to a situation of recruiting more than the quota, the school is ready to accept the penalty to protect the rights of candidates.

For timely support, the school recommends that candidates who register with the combination D66 or X78 send information before 5:00 p.m. on August 26 for resolution.

However, this incident did not stop at a technical fix. Many parents and candidates said that this seemingly small error caused a great mental shock, raising concerns about the fairness and transparency of university admissions. "Just one small mistake can turn a candidate's whole future upside down," one parent said.

The incident is considered a valuable lesson for higher education institutions in the 2025 admissions season, the first year of applying many changes in admission methods and combinations. Experts emphasized that, in addition to properly handling affected candidates, there is a need for technical solutions and stricter control procedures to avoid similar incidents in the coming years.
