Boxing is also the first sports federation in the country to pioneer signing directly with VADA, opening a series of practical actions to build a clean and professional sports environment.
Representatives of the two units signed a memorandum of cooperation, pledging to strictly comply with national anti-doping regulations as well as the Anti-Doping Code issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
According to the agreement, the Vietnam Boxing Federation will synchronously implement propaganda, education and doping monitoring programs throughout the entire competition system, from club level to national team level.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Minh Ha - Director of the National Anti-Doping Center emphasized the proactive role of sports federations in raising awareness and education on anti-doping.
“Boxing is a high-intensity sport that requires superior physical strength, so there is a potential risk of using banned substances. The fact that the Vietnam Boxing Federation proactively signed shows a high sense of responsibility, aiming for clean and sustainable sports,” said Mr. Ha.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Boxing Federation said that this is a step demonstrating a strong commitment to protecting sports ethics and preparing for international tournaments, where doping control is increasingly strict.
Mr. Hung hopes that through specific action programs, the coaching team and athletes will raise awareness and absolutely not allow the use of banned substances in competition.
Appreciating the significance of the event, Mr. Vu Xuan Thanh - Deputy Head of the Department of High Performance Sports of the Vietnam Sports Administration emphasized: "Signing a commitment with VADA is a practical action to help Boxing athletes and coaches better understand the importance of doping prevention. This is a model that needs to be replicated in other sports."
