Khanh Hoa Province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed calling on businesses to support and socialize 20 billion VND so that Khanh Hoa football team can maintain participation in the first division.

On July 31, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that the Provincial People's Committee will meet to consider a proposal to call for sponsorship from businesses to "save" Khanh Hoa Football Club to continue participating in the national first division tournament in the 2025-2026 season.

Previously, at a meeting with relevant units, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province proposed a plan to continue keeping the team participating in the national first division tournament in the 2025-2026 season. To do this, about 15-20 billion VND is needed for a season through socialization and mobilizing businesses to participate in support.

"In order to avoid causing bad public opinion about the cancellation of the professional tournament and to meet the needs of enjoying traditional professional football of the majority of Khanh Hoa football fans", the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism clearly stated the reason for the plan to keep the team.

In this socialization plan, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company is expected to contribute 3 billion VND, Khanh Viet Corporation commits 2-3 billion VND in the form of support under permitted conditions. In addition, there is also the participation of large corporations such as Vingroup, Sun Group, Khanh Hoa Lottery Company, VCN Investment Joint Stock Company and enterprises in the old Ninh Thuan province.

According to the report of Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, at the end of the 2025 season, all players of the team have expired their contracts and are currently free players, including 6 players on the team's payroll and 5 players recruited from the U.21 team. The club is currently unable to renew the contract because there is no funding to do so. To prepare for the new season starting from September 13, 2025, the team needs to recruit 25-30 additional players and complete the registration procedure before August 30.

To ensure participation in the first division tournament in the 2025-2026 season, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also proposed that the Provincial People's Committee allow the requisition of the current club leadership to continue running the team. In the immediate future, the club needs to urgently develop a plan to participate in the season, select players from teams under the Khanh Hoa Sports Training and Education Center, and at the same time carry out transfers to ensure enough players and coaching staff according to regulations.

Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, on July 21, Khanh Viet Corporation sent a document requesting the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to terminate the operation of Khanh Hoa Football Club based on the conclusion of the State Audit. Accordingly, the establishment of a dependent accounting unit of Khanh Viet Corporation for Khanh Hoa Football Club "does not comply with the Prime Minister's direction and guidance" on restructuring state-owned enterprises in the 2021-2025 period. The audit also pointed out that football activities are outside the main business lines and are not in accordance with the law on enterprises.
