What's special about the military's first security patrol robot?

At the National Achievements Exhibition taking place in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense displayed 334 products in an indoor display booth, including historical items, replicas, restorations, images, weapons and equipment... Notably, the VSR01 security patrol robot was introduced to the public for the first time.

The VSR01 security patrol robot, researched and developed by Viettel , is being tested and deployed in internal factories.

According to the explanation of the staff at the exhibition booth, the robot was researched and developed by Viettel since 2024, with smart security patrol functions, designed to replace or support security forces in industrial parks, residential areas, factories and key infrastructure.

4 cameras mounted on the robot

The robot has 4 cameras, including 2 cameras on top, including 1 thermal camera and 1 regular camera; 2 cameras below to identify terrain. The robot is capable of operating continuously in all weather conditions, complex terrains such as hills and mountains, detecting incidents and giving timely warnings thanks to AI technology and modern sensors. This is a comprehensive monitoring solution, improving security and safety efficiency.

In case of emergency, the robot can be controlled manually. In normal conditions, it moves automatically according to the pre-programmed terrain map.

The robot weighs about 60 kg, if fully charged it can operate for 3 - 4 hours, or it can use batteries and charge automatically. The robot's AI software system is completely owned by Viettel.

Robots can replace humans on patrol day and night.

In addition to patrol robots, according to the Ministry of National Defense, 334 products and weapons at the indoor exhibition booth are scientifically designed, divided into many areas, recreating history from the origin of the nation, milestones over 80 years of building and defending the country, introducing the process of building the army; displaying achievements in research and manufacturing of advanced defense equipment and technology.

In particular, the highlight of the exhibition is the modern interactive area with 3D mapping panorama technology and virtual reality glasses, bringing a realistic and vivid experience to visitors.

Outdoors, 96 weapons of 61 types will be introduced to the public, demonstrating the power to protect the Fatherland in the new situation.

Along with the exhibition, logistics, technical security and safety plans are also strictly implemented, with a field medical accommodation area, rescue plans, and fire prevention ready to ensure absolute safety for the exhibition.
