Implementing the direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and General Phan Van Giang (Minister of National Defense), since July, the General Department of Logistics and Technology has urgently implemented a plan to purchase and equip more than 6,000 motorbikes for more than 3,000 commune-level military commands nationwide, with 2 motorbikes for each unit.

Of which, Military Region 1 was assigned more than 600 Honda Wave Alpha motorbikes, Cao Bang province alone received more than 100 motorbikes.

This is the type of vehicle selected by the Ministry of National Defense based on technical features suitable for the characteristics of mountainous terrain, ensuring reliability, durability, ease of use and convenience in technical maintenance work.

The implementation of purchasing and handing over the motorbikes took place in a short time, in the context that the General Department of Logistics and Engineering was focusing on the task of the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (A80).

However, with a high spirit of determination, great efforts, and drastic actions to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Ministry of National Defense, up to now, the vehicles have been ready to be handed over to the Military Commands of communes and wards nationwide.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Deputy Political Commissar of the General Department, emphasized that equipping motorbikes for commune-level military commands is a correct and timely policy, contributing to improving mobility, handling situations, building strong local armed forces, and meeting mission requirements in the new situation.

Major General Nguyen Dinh Chieu requested units to manage, exploit and use vehicles in accordance with regulations, safely and effectively.

The handover of vehicles to military commands of communes nationwide demonstrates the attention of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense to build and consolidate local armed forces, contributing to building a strong national defense and people's war posture in the new revolutionary period.
