Vietnamese women's volleyball team unexpectedly has 4 athletes in the world's top 100

(Dan Tri) - Impressive achievements in the SEA V-League have helped the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to be highly regarded. Up to 4 Vietnamese girls are in the top 100 volleyball athletes.

Volleybox is a reputable expert in statistics and data in the volleyball world. Today (August 11), this site has just updated the top 100 best athletes in the world in 2025 based on performance and competition results.

Among them, athlete Tran Thi Thanh Thuy was ranked 14th in the world by Volleybox with 327.85 points. It should be added that in Southeast Asia, no volleyball athlete has a higher ranking than Thanh Thuy, including Thailand (the team that dominates women's volleyball in Southeast Asia).

Since the beginning of the year, Thanh Thuy has participated in 10 tournaments that are scored according to Volleybox, including the AVC Nations Cup (Asia), SEA V-League (Southeast Asia) and club-level volleyball tournaments in Türkiye... In particular, the SEA V-League championship round 2 helped Thanh Thuy gain 10 more points.

If only counting the main attacker position, Thanh Thuy is ranked 4th in the world. This is a very high ranking for athletes in the Southeast Asian region.

Following Thanh Thuy is libero Nguyen Khanh Dang. She is ranked 27th in the world. Khanh Dang also made a big jump after winning the SEA V-League championship when she was awarded 10 points for her team performance. In addition, with the title of “best libero of the tournament”, Khanh Dang was awarded 15 points.

With 235.25 points, Khanh Dang is the 3rd best libero in the world at the moment. This is also a commendable achievement for a Vietnamese athlete.

The remaining two names of Vietnamese women's volleyball in the world's top 100 are Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen (ranked 85th in the world, 169.25 points) and Vu Thi Nhu Quynh (ranked 86th, 169 points).

Of course, this ranking is only based on competition results and has not been classified in tournaments. For example, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has not yet competed in world competitions such as the FIVB Nations League. This helps Coach Tuan Kiet's students accumulate points in lower tournaments.

Meanwhile, Thailand does not have any faces in the world top because they did not compete successfully in world playgrounds like FIVB Nations League.

Anyway, having 4 athletes in the world top 100 is a good sign for Vietnamese volleyball, creating momentum for us to develop in the future.
